Adoption policy

Tazewell County Animal Control picks up all pets running the streets, as well taking in any animal that walks through the door. Animals that are strays are held for five business days. Animals are then evaluated then put up for adoption or transferred to a rescue organization. Unfortunatley, we do have to euthanize some animals due to the fact that we are an open admission shelter and can not turn away any animal by saying that we are full. Adopting from TCAC you are really saving a life.

All microchips registered with Findpet can be traced internationally through the American Animal Hospital Association’s (AAHA) universal pet microchip lookup, ensuring your pet's safety at home or during travel.
