Leo is roughly 1 year old and 45 pounds. He was rescued from the streets of Turkey with his 8 siblings, with no mother in sight. He was raised at the shelter. 

Leo is currently being fostered in Toronto. Here is what his fosters say:


·\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0 Leo is an absolute sweetheart. He has such a loving, grateful soul. He wiggles whenever my kids and I come in the door and gives the BEST kisses.
·\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0 He is so eager to please, sits and gives paw with such enthusiasm it’s clear how desperately he wants to do the right thing and be in good favour with his people. Hes learning to stay and wait a few moments for his food etc.
·\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0 He is loyal and protective, and a good watch dog. He makes it very clear when someone is on the property, or if there’s a racoon/skunk getting into the recycling on the back porch.
·\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0 He’s really silly and so much fun. He jumps like a jumping bean and dances and paws the air. You can’t not laugh at his antics. He’s super endearing and makes me smile all the time. (Extra good news is he rarely jumps ON us any more, which was an issue at first.)
·\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0 He does very well in terms of house training/going to bathroom outside, letting us know he needs to go out.
·\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0 His leash training is improving – his haltee really helps. He gets very excited for walks. Still a work in progress but its coming along.
·\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0\xa0 He gives the best cuddles. He likes to be close to us, and is so happy for the loving we give him. He sleeps happily on the sofa, on his dog bed, or very happily on my bed, and loves licking our feet.?
·\xa0 \xa0 \xa0 \xa0 He’s great with other dogs. He and Buddy play and snuggle so well together. Very friendly (but still nervous/cautious) meeting other neighbourhood dogs on walks.

areas that he can improve:

·\xa0 \xa0 \xa0 \xa0 He can be nervous and it will take him time to adjust. In a loud house (despite my best efforts to manage the chaos, with two young kids there’s only so much I can do), although we love him and he loves us, he’s often on edge and any loud sound startles him. This is improving but is still hard for him.
Leo seems to be scared of big, loud men. An environment with calm, softer-spoken family members would suit him best. Hes a sensitive pup.\xa0


Hes such a joy, an absolute sweetheart. We love him very much.



The dogs that fly in from Turkey have an adoption fee of $800 CAD. The cost covers the volunteers flight/dogs flight/vetting.
